USCIS fees for filing N-400, Application for Naturalization, to increase to $1,170 effective October 2, 2020

USCIS will implement its final rule on fee increases for filing immigration forms on October 2nd, 2020. The N-400 form, Application for Naturalization, fee will go from its current filing fee of $640 to $1,170, an increase of $530 or 83%.

In addition, the final rule eliminates the reduced fee option of $320 for those applicants whose income was greater than 150% but not more than 200% of the Federal poverty level.

USCIS will also be providing a $10 filing fee discount for those applicants that file the N-400 application online: total cost $1,160. See the fee table below.

N-400 filing fee increase The last time the N-400 filing fee was increased was in 2016. On December 23, 2016, the fee went from $595 to $640 an increase of $45 or 8%.

Applications postmarked October 2nd, 2020 and later, will be required to have the new application fee or will be rejected.
